Vernon, Indiana  US   Job Code - 40197 Position - Job First Active on: Thursday, March 29, 2012 ASSOCIATE APPLICATION ENGINEER Support the development and operational use of manufacturing and laboratory execution systems at Indiana Technical Operations (ITO). Develop an understanding of the S88 approach to automation solutions and work instructions supporting the site implementation. Provide system development, implementation support and operational support of live systems for Indiana Technical Operations for the successful deployment and support of the manufacturing operational philosophy. Create manufacturing and laboratory data system requirements, specifications, and develop software test protocols to support GMP compliant manufacturing within Indiana Technical Operations. Perform periodic maintenance, testing, backups, review of security, and update of applicable SOPs for manufacturing -related applications, including manufacturing executions systems, data historian systems, and document management systems. Reviewing system operation, architecture and data flow strategies to assure reliable system performance. Specific Technical Skills will include experience in the development and/or support of manufacturing applications in a GMP environment, preferably in the drug products business. Familiarity with document management systems, OSI PI historian or a similar data historian, and common interfacing standards for integrating manufacturing computer systems is preferred. Experience with web technologies, database management, and high level programming is desirable. Experience extracting data from relational databases is desirable. Performs the following activities: 1. Performs development support activities related to the standard manufacturing systems deployment at ITO. 2. Ensures the continuity of ITO operations by performing application support for manufacturing systems. 3. Provides IT administration and support for standard manufacturing systems including, but not limited to, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Weigh & Dispense, document management, OSI PI data historian, SAP MII, SAP AII and associated site specific serialization systems as needed. 4. Supports Computer Software Validation (CSV) activities related to manufacturing IT applications for the site. 5. Assists with day to day type support for reliability - hotfixes, log file review, vendor bulletins, impact assessments of updates, etc. 6. Works in conformance with cGMP's, plant procedures, corporate policies, and applicable regulations (FDA, DEA, etc.) REQUIREMENTS - QUALIFICATIONS: ASSOCIATE APPLICATION ENGINEER 1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technology or science field required. 2. Demonstrated interpersonal skills for building a relationship with clients and collaboration with colleagues. 3. Strong communication skills both oral and written. 4. General knowledge in the application of S-88 based batch recipe control, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Process Analytical Technology, and integration of systems through S95 standards. 5. Expertise with Microsoft operating systems and MS Office applications. Familiarity with MS SQL database server and experience with Crystal Reports is desired. 6. Experience working in a Pharmaceutical GMP validated environment 7. Understanding of project management and manufacturing/quality related systems validation activities.
